Hume AI announced a $50 million Series B led by EQT Ventures, with participation from Union Square Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Metaplanet, Northwell Holdings, Comcast Ventures, and LG Technology Ventures. In the same announcement, the company unveiled its Empathic Voice Interface (EVI).

Hume AI introduced OCTAVE (Omni-Capable Text and Voice Engine), a next-generation speech-language model that can generate both voices and personalities from text prompts or short recordings. The company described it as an early-access release for trusted partners.

Hume AI announced a partnership with Vapi to make its expressive voice technology available on Vapi’s platform for phone-calling applications. The announcement highlighted integration of Hume’s Octave TTS and emphasized lower latency and pricing.

Hume AI announced a partnership with SambaNova to bring expressive voice to SambaNova-hosted language models. The collaboration added native support for SambaNova-hosted models within Hume’s EVI 3 platform.
